HUSP Training

HUSP is the Highland Underage Sex Protocol which provides the decision making framework for practitioners working with children and young people who are sexually active. The protocol provides advice and guidance on the law, support services for young people and information sharing. It guides practitioners through the decision making process in order that they can act in the best interest of the young person.

The HUSP Protocol is currently being updated. Please check back for further details about this.

Training in relation to HUSP is covered in the Developing Competence in Child Protection training. Further details available at:

In the meantime, if you want to know more, check out the interactive tool at

Please note, the protocol should be used in conjunction with the Highland Practice Guidance and Highland Child Protection Guidelines.
